Black Myth: Wukong is Coming to PC and Console in Late 2023

Published

on

Black Myth: Wukong is finally getting a release date and fans are pretty excited. In production for a few years now and headed up by Chinese developer Game Science, the game has taken on a reputation for being a lot like Dark Souls, another title that has a cult following for its depth and difficulty. The comparison has been made largely because the dynamic of this current title is said to be very engaging and difficult to master. The word on the street is that this indie developer has put a lot of energy into this game and that the player base has a lot to be excited for come 2023. In the main article, we will examine the things that may make this game a 2023 hit.

The Setting

The player controls a character called the “Destined One” as they are forced to engage with a number of surprisingly difficult enemies in order to achieve the goal of escaping into the next realm. The Destined One looks a lot like the Monkey King of Chinese folklore, and the power sets look about the same as the legendary god-king.

IGN and other sources have been keeping up on this title and the development. They have said comparatively little about the upcoming title but we do know for sure that the game is likely to be a challenge for even seasoned players of Action -adventure games like this one.

The Developer Perspective

“While we will not necessarily need 500 years to finish, we will ship it only when we feel satisfied as players. After all, more works in the Black Myth series are in serious planning.” -Koei Tecmo

Steelrising, Developed by “Spiders” Coming to Windows Soon

Published

Steelrising, Developed by “Spiders” Coming to Windows Soon. This epic new game, set in Revolutionary France, is being developed by Spiders, and it will be published by Nacon. A fusion between neo-noir and steam punk Victorian art, this game transports the player to an alternate history France and shoves them into a massive conflict that involves the fate of the nation. This game is certainly reminiscent of Assassin’s Creed, and this works to its advantage. In the main article today, we will discuss some of the elements of the game and get the developer’s perspective.

The Setting

Understanding the scope of the game requires that we understand the main setting. That setting, is the country of France in the middle of the Revolution. The uprising and all its fire and upheaval is on display in living color.

The player takes on the role of the “automaton” which is named Aegis, and the role of Aegis is to battle the forces of the distraught King to help save the country.

The Reviewers Perspective

The city burns and bleeds as it suffers the madness of King Louis XVI and his violent legions of automatons. Aegis, a mechanical masterpiece created by the engineer Vaucanson to be the queen’s bodyguard, must save the French Revolution in this challenging action-RPG. Up against the king’s mechanical soldiers, deadly accuracy will be needed. String together dodges, parries, jumps and devastating attacks to fight your way through Paris. Every fight will test your nerve and requires excellent discipline, while the huge relentless machine bosses demand patience and skill.” -Steam

Rocksmith+, From Ubisoft, Is Coming to PC in Summer of 2022

Published

Rocksmith+, From Ubisoft, Is Coming to PC in Summer of 2022. This game, designed and released by Ubisoft, in conjunction with Gamebryo, is a music video production experience. It will be released on PlayStation 3, Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, Macintosh operating systems. It is being lauded by reviewers as a drastic improvement over the last installment, and today we will be looking  into what separates this game from not only its predecessor, but other games of  the type.

The Core

The game is basically a pay-to-access music training and production “game” that enables players to learn and execute new musical talents. They are then allowed to use these talents to produce their own music along with a story line they can select.

As a subscription-based game, the “player” must build an account and select a plan that allows them to access the game according to what they want to produce. Last, year, a closed beta testing game was released, and some changes were made by user feedback.

The Reviewers Perspective

A big improvement on the original Rocksmith. Most songs scale difficulty very well for learning (with some exceptions that may be related to still being in closed beta). I found the note detection to be much more accurate than Rocksmith, and the UI layout much more intuitive now. Although some have complained about song selection, there does seem to be a nice catalog to start, and more songs will automatically be added rather than having to buy song by song (although the ability to play songs purchased for Rocksmith would be nice even if they are not included with the new library).” -A Gaming Reviewer
