Croquet engages in metaverse forum

The Metaverse Standards Forum has welcomed Croquet Corporation, the company behind the first open Metaverse operating system (OS) and development platform. Croquet’s engagement in the Forum as a Principal Member advances its contribution to the creation of best-in-class Metaverse standards and highlights the role that its technology plays in facilitating interoperability throughout the Metaverse.

The Croquet OS-based Microverse IDE, which enables Web and Web3 developers to quickly produce interoperable, standards-based Metaverse environments, recently announced the availability of its open beta version. With the help of the Microverse IDE, designers and developers can create low latency, high performance multi-user Microverse places and worlds that can be shared anywhere. Joining the Forum highlights how the free source Microverse IDE and Croquet OS are the top development and immersive 3D construction options for the Metaverse.

The position of Croquet’s multiplane portals as a crucial component of the Metaverse interoperability puzzle is further strengthened by its membership as a main member in the Metaverse Standards Forum. Multiplane portals, a feature of Microverse IDE that is currently available, securely connect independent 3D virtual worlds created by various parties, even across other domains. These portals provide safe, secure, and independent of the major technological platforms decentralized interoperability between other worlds.

Croquet offers a global option for developers and businesses seeking independence from the proprietary, closed networks because it is based on open, standards-based technologies

According to David A. Smith, creator and CTO of Croquet, “Croquet is committed to the development and deployment of the real open Metaverse, free of control and limits.” “By joining the Metaverse Standards Forum, we are demonstrating our leadership in the adoption and development of open standards that will enable the creation of a fully scaled, open, and interoperable Metaverse. We look forward to continuing to contribute to the expanding Metaverse community as a principal member and to the creation of best-in-class Metaverse standards that will maintain interoperability.”

At AWE, the most esteemed conference for augmented reality, virtual reality, and the metaverse, Croquet won the Auggie Award as a Startup to Watch in 2022.
