DAX Index Down 4.37% As German Shares Tumble


Germany stocks were lower after the close as losses into the Insurance, Industrials and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares lower Monday.

The DAX lost 4.37% to hit a new 1-month low, although the MDAX index declined 3.68%, and the TecDAX index lost 3.93% at the close in Frankfurt.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Boerse AG (DE:DB1Gn), which fell 1.29% or 1.920 points to trade at 146.730 at the close. Meanwhile, Delivery Hero AG (DE:DHER) fell 1.43% or 1.30 points to end at 89.66 and RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) was down 2.30% or 0.710 points to 30.095 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which dropped 8.76% or 0.672 points to trade at 7.000 at the close. MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (DE:MTXGn) declined 7.97% or 12.30 points to end at 141.95 and Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (DE:MUVGn) had been down 7.68% or 18.55 points to 223.00.

The top performers on the MDAX were SE that is helloFresh:HFGG) which rose 6.71% to 41.02, Osram Licht AG (DE:OSRn) which was up 1.16% to stay at 43.52 and Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) which gained 0.18% to close at 10.012.

The worst performers were United Web AG NA (DE:UTDI) which was down 23.73% to 30.500 in belated trade, K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which lost 9.71% to settle at 5.224 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (DE:LHAG) that was down 9.46% to 7.788 during the close.

The performers which are top the TecDAX were New Perform SE (DE:NWOn) which rose 0.84per cent to 241.00, Aixtron SE (DE:AIXGn) that has been up 0.18% to settle at 10.012 and TeamViewer AG (DE:TMV) which lost 0.71% to close at 42.23.

The worst performers were Drillisch AG (DE:DRIG) that was down 27.78% to 17.600 in late trade, United Internet AG NA (DE:UTDI) which lost 23.73% to settle at 30.500 and Varta AG (DE:VAR1) which was down 7.00% to 111.600 at the close.

Dropping stocks outnumbered ones that are advancing the Frankfurt inventory Exchange by 607 to 84 and 54 ended unchanged.

The DAX volatility index, which measures the volatility that is implied of options, was up 27.65% to 31.39.

Gold Futures for delivery was down 2.64% or 51.85 to $1910.25 a troy ounce December. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 4.96% or 2.05 hitting $39.27 a barrel, whilst the November Brent oil contract fell 4.24% or 1.83 to trade at $41.32 a barrel. Germany stocks were lower after the close as losses.

EUR/USD was down 0.77% to 1.1746, while EUR/GBP rose 0.12% to 0.9185.

The United States Dollar Index Futures was up 0.85% at 93.743.
