Dordogne Will Be Released Later in 2023 to PC and Console

Published

on

Dordogne Will Be Released Later in 2023 to PC and Console. The game is in development at  UMANIMATION, and the publishers (Focus Entertainment) are suggesting that there may be some delays. This game is primarily characterized by the narrative-adventure genre which adds depth and tangibility to its plot. The plot itself focuses on Mimi, the primary character. Being narrative adventure is only part of the game, the other parts are distinguished by puzzles and solving mechanics that engage the player’s mind. In the main article, we will discuss some of the elements that make the game one to look out for.

The Setting

Saturated in a kind of water color art style, the picturesque landscape of the game really astonishes when you first see it. The fluid dynamic of the way the characters and landscapes play off of each other is really something to be thoroughly enjoyed.

As for the plot, though we don’t know much, we know enough to comment on some aspects. Mimi (the main character) walks peacefully through the town back to her grandmother’s house. Her elder has recently died, and Mimi must reconcile herself with this reality. Additionally, as a method of self reflection, she must solve riddles and puzzles littered around the town.

The Developer Perspective

“Each of these artists has an enormous capacity to render poetry through light, framing and narration. In a picture, we are able to feel what they mean. This is what I would like to achieve with Dordogne: a game that can be identified at first glance. We have to find the best framing, the best light, the best narrative intentions to tell our story. This artistic approach is an important constraint but also a strength because it requires us to find the best options to tell our story, while allowing the player to enjoy playing it. In a way, Dordogne is more like a film that we can play, an interactive experience.” -Cédric Babouche

Everspace 2 is the Sequel to the ROCKFISH Title of 2016

Published

on

Everspace 2 is the Sequel to the ROCKFISH Title of 2016. The game is being developed and published by Rockfish Games, and it will be released sometime in 2023. It will be run on the Unreal Engine 5 and, like many games created on this engine, it looks marvelous. It will eventually be released on PC, Nintendo Switch, and Playstation 4. It is a space combat, mining sim that picks up where the original Everspace left off, both spiritually and mechanically. In the main article, we will be looking into the game and anticipating its release.

The Setting

EverSpace 2 is set as a continuation of the events of the original game. The player is given the role of Adam, a pilot and adventurer. The mission of the opening goes disastrously awry and Adam must fall in with unsavory forces to make it back home. At first, the player is given the task of finding medical supplies for an wounded fellow.

“The story is told either through in-game cutscenes, some of which aren’t quite ready yet. When this happens, you are notified by the “not a final product” message. These are combined with some well-drawn static images ala Graphic Novel.”

The Developer Perspective

We couldn’t do the full-blown open world action-RPG experience in space because it takes an eight-digit budget to develop that, even as an indie,” Schade said. “So obviously, coming out of our previous studio [with] no computers, no IP, no tech, no team, no money — we really had to start all over.” -Developer

Gunbrella is Coming to Steam and Nintendo Switch in 2023

Published

on

Gunbrella is Coming to Steam and Nintendo Switch in 2023. The game is being developed by Doinksoft and will be published by Devolver Digital. The release date is set for late 2023 and the schedule seems to be intact, according to the developer. Gunbrella, if the name is evidence of anything, is going to be an adventure-shooter that takes its cues from some classics of the past. Sources tell us that the game is inspired by the film-noir and punk art styles, and this is definitely apparent in the trailers. In the main article, we will describe some of the details that we know so far.

The Setting

The setting is a post-punk, film-noir landscape that evokes a sense of gloom and industrial cities. The player takes on the role of a gun-wielding woodsman who is on a fated quest for vengeance. Yes, the Gunbrella, the game’s titular weapon, is an umbrella that doubles as a powerful gun. Try that on for size.

In the progression of the game’s story, the player must acquire new abilities and flashy new tactics in order to defeat the enemies and find information leading to the revenge the character so desperately seeks.

The Developer Perspective

Gunbrella is a noir-punk action-adventure set in a world dependent on a rapidly diminishing natural resource. Players take the role of a gruff woodsman on a quest for revenge, armed with the mysterious Gunbrella: a firearm that doubles as an umbrella. His investigation becomes entangled with the inner workings of ghouls and gangsters, cops and cultists, and the fallout of corporate exploitation.” -Developer
