Epic Games supports clients metaverse growth

WPP and Epic Games, the interactive entertainment firm behind Fortnite and the Unreal Engine, announced a new relationship today to enable WPP agencies deliver a new era of digital experiences for clients in the metaverse.

The partnership will include a new training program to upskill thousands of WPP creatives and technologists

Thousands of WPP creatives and technologists will be trained on how to develop personalized brand experiences in Fortnite and how to use Unreal Engine for real-time 3D design and virtual production as part of the relationship. There will be three independent tracks for CEOs, creative practitioners, and media experts and strategists in this new metaverse curriculum.

WPP thinks that brands and creators have a tremendous opportunity to address the desire for connection and unlock endless creative potential within interactive virtual spaces by investing early in the technologies and people needed to succeed in the metaverse.

Moreover, WPP teams will collaborate directly with Epic experts to learn how to create next-generation interactive experiences using Unreal Engine, an innovative real-time 3D production engine utilized in a variety of sectors including as gaming, movies, architecture, fashion, automotive, music, and live events. WPP teams will be able to use training and resources to develop new Fortnite experiences, where artists can construct unique worlds for companies within one of the most popular online games.

WPP will also work with SuperAwesome to deepen its understanding of online safety and privacy

“We think of WPP as the creative transformation firm, one that welcomes new settings like the metaverse and sees the possibilities for clients,” says Nilufar Fowler, Executive Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at WPP. Epic’s technology is world-class, and we’re excited to work with them to help our clients raise the bar for social interactions in virtual worlds.”

The company WPP announced The Metaverse Foundry, a new worldwide metaverse solution through Hogarth, its specialty creative content creation company, just a few weeks ago.
