Flock! Comes to PC and Console in the Summer of 2023

Published

on

Developed by Proper Games, the Flock! game is set to release in the summer of 2023. The game will be published by gaming giant Capcom, and they have been pretty forthcoming about their confidence in the game. The whole game is a kind of zany puzzle, action-adventure game which puts the player in control of a UFO (Unidentified Flying Object) and requires them to find a solve environmental puzzles. In the main article we will examine the game and what it stands to contribute to the gaming genre.

The Game

Basically, the game focuses on a rather, on the surface, mundane task of rounding up all the cattle and farm animals in a certain area in order to abduct them. However, this task ends up providing many more challenges than at first it appears it would.

There are a total of 55 playable levels that will engage the player and force them to use new skills, and older skills in new ways in order to get the task accomplished. It get’s pretty difficult, if I’m honest. But it more than makes up for it’s simplicity in fun and progressive gaming mechanics.

Interest

One of our biggest hurdles was creating a game that was accessible to everyone right away.  To that end, we did a lot of tuning with the level progression to ensure users wouldn’t get overwhelmed early on, but we had to make sure that a lot of new interesting things unlock to keep the player engaged.  We also spent a lot of time tuning the controls to make them as intuitive as possible.  We wanted to ensure the game was technically accessible to as many players as possible so we had an entire team devoted to making the game run on lower speced PCs.  From all that effort, I believe we achieved our goal of making the game easy to pick up and enjoy.” -Developer

Everspace 2 is the Sequel to the ROCKFISH Title of 2016

Published

on

Everspace 2 is the Sequel to the ROCKFISH Title of 2016. The game is being developed and published by Rockfish Games, and it will be released sometime in 2023. It will be run on the Unreal Engine 5 and, like many games created on this engine, it looks marvelous. It will eventually be released on PC, Nintendo Switch, and Playstation 4. It is a space combat, mining sim that picks up where the original Everspace left off, both spiritually and mechanically. In the main article, we will be looking into the game and anticipating its release.

The Setting

EverSpace 2 is set as a continuation of the events of the original game. The player is given the role of Adam, a pilot and adventurer. The mission of the opening goes disastrously awry and Adam must fall in with unsavory forces to make it back home. At first, the player is given the task of finding medical supplies for an wounded fellow.

“The story is told either through in-game cutscenes, some of which aren’t quite ready yet. When this happens, you are notified by the “not a final product” message. These are combined with some well-drawn static images ala Graphic Novel.”

The Developer Perspective

We couldn’t do the full-blown open world action-RPG experience in space because it takes an eight-digit budget to develop that, even as an indie,” Schade said. “So obviously, coming out of our previous studio [with] no computers, no IP, no tech, no team, no money — we really had to start all over.” -Developer

Gunbrella is Coming to Steam and Nintendo Switch in 2023

Published

on

Gunbrella is Coming to Steam and Nintendo Switch in 2023. The game is being developed by Doinksoft and will be published by Devolver Digital. The release date is set for late 2023 and the schedule seems to be intact, according to the developer. Gunbrella, if the name is evidence of anything, is going to be an adventure-shooter that takes its cues from some classics of the past. Sources tell us that the game is inspired by the film-noir and punk art styles, and this is definitely apparent in the trailers. In the main article, we will describe some of the details that we know so far.

The Setting

The setting is a post-punk, film-noir landscape that evokes a sense of gloom and industrial cities. The player takes on the role of a gun-wielding woodsman who is on a fated quest for vengeance. Yes, the Gunbrella, the game’s titular weapon, is an umbrella that doubles as a powerful gun. Try that on for size.

In the progression of the game’s story, the player must acquire new abilities and flashy new tactics in order to defeat the enemies and find information leading to the revenge the character so desperately seeks.

The Developer Perspective

Gunbrella is a noir-punk action-adventure set in a world dependent on a rapidly diminishing natural resource. Players take the role of a gruff woodsman on a quest for revenge, armed with the mysterious Gunbrella: a firearm that doubles as an umbrella. His investigation becomes entangled with the inner workings of ghouls and gangsters, cops and cultists, and the fallout of corporate exploitation.” -Developer
