GeniusU secures new metaverse funding

Genius Group is delighted to announce that its Singapore-based Edtech subsidiary, GeniusU Ltd, has completed a seed round to support the development of its Genius Metaversity virtual learning plans, valuing the Edtech subsidiary at $250 million. GeniusU’s online learning platform has attracted over 2.8 million students and 10,300 partners by offering interactive courses and assessments in entrepreneurship, investing, and 21st century skills.

The company intends to expand its courses and programs to interactive learning environments in the metaverse, where students and instructors will connect and learn in global classrooms and virtual 3D environments

In addition, it intends to integrate each student’s AI-based virtual assistant “Genie” into the metaverse as 3D virtual assistants that accompany each student on their personalized journey, as well as its GEMs student credits. GEMs (Genius Education Merits) are earned by students as they study and can be redeemed for GeniusU products and services, in addition to counting toward their certifications.

Existing GeniusU Ltd investors contributed $1.5 million to the development of GeniusU’s Genius Metaversity by purchasing new ordinary shares of GeniusU Ltd at $24.39 per share, valuing the company at $250 million. Genius Group Ltd owns approximately 97% of GeniusU Ltd, making it the majority shareholder. Both are Singapore-based public corporations, with Genius Group being a NYSE American-listed company.

Roger James Hamilton, the chief executive officer of Genius Group, stated, “Our mission is to develop an entrepreneur education system that prepares students for the 21st century.” We believe Web3 and the Metaverse enhance students’ and teachers’ ability to collaborate and learn in a global classroom. Our plan is to develop a blended solution of real-world, online, and virtual learning to gamify learning and make it significantly more engaging and enjoyable, working with students from around the globe in real time.”

The funding cycle began in February 2022 and concluded in May 2022. It follows the campus subsidiary of Genius Group, Entrepreneur Resorts, raising $0.9 million from existing Entrepreneur Resorts investors in December 2021 at $2.75 per share, valuing the company at $38 million. Entrepreneur Resorts Ltd. is a publicly traded company that is listed on the Seychelles Stock Exchange

Genius Group Ltd is the majority shareholder of Entrepreneur Resorts, holding approximately 95% of the company’s stock

The funds raised by Entrepreneur Resorts will be used to launch a co-working and co-learning campus in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, called Genius Central. Students will be able to experience Genius Metaversity on-site at this location.

Dragon Fam is a true community-driven initiative that focuses on an in-real-life brand, art, and utility. It consists of 6,666 baby dragons in a rainbow of colors, each with their own set of distinctive, hand-drawn characteristics. This project, which is being led by the community and the arts, is bringing together services that are useful to both adults and children.

CBI unveils a new metaverse platform

The second round of the private token and NFT sale for Horyou AlphaVerse, a metaverse devoted to social good and created by game and blockchain product developer Crypto Blockchain Industries (CBI), has begun. Horyou AlphaVerse is now accepting corporate and venture capital investments following a successful pre-seed sale of more than 100 million LIGHTS tokens to a group of innovators and collaborators associated with Horyou and Horyou Foundation.

Qualified buyers may buy up to 600 million LIGHTS tokens during this private sale. Land NFTs will also be accessible. There will be 180,000 Land NFTs in the Horyou AlphaVerse, distributed among 288 districts. There are 278 nation and territory districts in addition to 10 theme districts focused on the UN 2030 Agenda. 160 to 1,800 Land NFTs are divided into streets within each district.

Riu Plaza Hotel opens its door in the metaverse

RIU Hotels & Resorts wants to be a metaverse pioneer. It’s making its virtual premiere with the Riu Plaza. The first hotel to open in the metaverse, it combines reality with digital recreation in AltSpace. This renowned Madrid structure delivers an outstanding real-world experience, which can now be recreated virtually. RIU believes the metaverse will be the future foundation of brands’ and people’s digital presence.

This technology must grow and become more accessible before it can establish itself and evolve like the web and social media. RIU has entered the metaverse with this concept to provide users what they want.

They can visit the lobby and admire the decoration and architectural aspects, or they can travel to the rooftop terrace and peer over the glass balcony or cross the 100-metre-high walkway. It’s all virtual, but it’s still entertaining. Users can pick up, open, and click on items to reveal surprises. Moreover, first-timers get a secret gift.

La Agencia Encubierta, a digital marketing agency and metaverse pioneer, helped RIU build this project. The recently completed Riu Plaza in Microsoft’s AltSpace boasts novel building characteristics and genuine elements that interact with guests in the digital world thanks to this agency.

We were able to reproduce an iconic Madrid building since we had access to the architectural designs and worked with a renowned AltSpace builder. La Agencia Encubierta’s CSO and CEO, José Olivares and Jurro Pizarro, are proud of the brand’s interactive presence in this phase.

The chosen solutions, such as the true views of Madrid from the Rooftop 360° patio, make this hotel a one-of-a-kind metaverse creation.
