The “Talent District • Istituto Marangoni’s Metaverse Revolution” is a metaverse project that was unveiled by the Instituto Marangoni, one of Milan’s leading fashion schools with campuses in Shanghai, Shenzhen, London, Paris, Florence, Mumbai, Miami, and Dubai.
According to the source, the school was established in Milan in 1935 and is run by the renowned Galileo Global Education Italia, whose alumni include Alessandro Sartori, Franco Moschino, Domenico Dolce, Andrea Pompilio, and Paula Cademartori, among many others.
The brand-new metaverse area will cater to Gen Z students, teach digital skills, and display works of art and events from cooperative companies across industries
Users can use customized avatars to travel the digital frontier and stop at virtual attractions like The Infopoint, where students can learn and study, or the Exhibition Pavilion, where they can attend virtual events featuring the newest in fashion and design.
Other hubs in the metaverse include, among others, The Partners’ House for presenting student initiatives for affiliated businesses, The Theatre for lectures and discussions, The Archive for looking at earlier projects and events, and many more.
“This is a project destined to be enlarged time and time again, with more buildings and activities,” Istituto Marangoni’s managing director Stefania Valenti stated. “We gave it the name “district” to convey this idea and to pay homage to Made in Italy, which has always centered on the superiority of various areas.”
Digital rooms were created to showcase some of the top works from participants at The Exhibition Pavilion thanks to IGoodi’s 4D body scanning and volumetric video technologies. Moreover, a real-time 3D (RT3D) metaverse catwalk with avatars and virtual fashion creations will be used by Istituto Marangoni to launch some of its content in Dubai.
In three months, students and firms, according to Valenti, established the platform, and the projects would subsequently be incorporated into its master’s degree in design programs.
According to the story, she went on to say that although her institute “began by displaying our top skills,” it sought to make its resources available to “any student” and “welcome all campuses of the organization.”
The announcement follows the exploration of the Metaverse by a number of the most prestigious fashion labels in the world, including NIKE, Adidas, Gucci, DKNY, and many more.
