METAYO, a Munich-based metaverse company, has recently joined Dubai’s new metaverse strategy in order to collaborate on the development of the tech plan’s ecosystem of software solutions, according to an announcement made on Wednesday.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammad bin Rashid al-Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, recently unveiled the city’s metaverse programme, which aims to attract 40,000 digital professionals and grow the city’s economy by $4 billion USD over the next five years
In a recent statement, Matthew Ball, one of the world’s foremost experts on the Metaverse, stated that interoperability would continue to be one of the most important aspects of constructing the Metaverse in order to connect immersive worlds using common standards.
“A massively scalable and interoperable network of real-time rendered 3D virtual worlds that can be experienced synchronously and persistently by an effectively unlimited number of users with an individual sense of presence and with continuity of data including identity, history, entitlements, objects, communications, and payments.” In other words, it is much more than a simple rebranding of virtual reality” METAYO’s patented Holoswitch app intends to facilitate this by connecting tech and luxury goods enthusiasts with Web3 and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on its platform.
The German technology company has also recently joined the Metaverse Standards Forum (MSF), an organization comprised of dozens of groups, companies, startups, and experts tasked with developing global interoperability and security standards for the emerging spatial communications platform.
Dubai intends to intensify its efforts to establish an ecosystem for virtual, augmented, and mixed reality (VR/AR/MR) headsets, 5G, digital twins, edge and cloud computing, the internet of things (IoT), and other technologies, according to recent reports.
In addition to building the national economy of the United Arab Emirates, the strategy aims to train and deploy future generations of tech professionals, content creators, and web3 experts in order to expand the global ecosystem across sectors such as remote work, collaboration, healthcare, tourism, and retail, among others.
Late in January, the UAE launched a Metaverse portal for engaging citizens across the country seeking medical advice, particularly amid ongoing COVID-19 outbreaks, in order to expand its outreach to remote areas.
