Monochrome Mobius: Rights and Wrongs Forgotten, Coming Soon. Developed by Aqualus and to be published by  JP: Aquaplus and WW: Shiravune, this upcoming game is a JRPG full of color and life. Like many JRPGs, this title features a unique and recognizable art style that reflects the classic RPGs of the nineties. It is slated to debut in November of 2022, and will commemorate the 20th anniversary of the beginning of the series in which it belongs. In the main article, we will be examining the style and mechanics of the game, and we will get the developer’s perspective as well.

The Setting

Set in the same universe as  Utawarerumono: Mask of Deception, but in a place and time right before the events of that game. The game’s location is Ennakamuy, which is a province that borders the Yamato Empire, the game’s primary antagonist.

Oshtor is the primary protagonist, and as a young boy living with his mother he encounters a beautiful young girl who will become the fulcrum on which his fate turns.

The Reviewers Perspective

This is the second alteration to the release date, following a prior change in July to fine-tune the game’s overall balance and polish,” Aquaplus said in a statement. “Development had progressed to the final stages when the team was struck with a COVID-19 infection that caused unforeseen delays to the remaining work. We have once again adjusted the production schedule in order to prioritize the health of our staff.”Developer notes

Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness is on Steam. Designed and developed by Chime Corporation and published by Spike Chunsoft Co., Ltd., this new title features some exciting mechanics. Reg and Riko are the main characters, and they are thrust into a massive story that stretches from the bottom of the ocean to the heights of the stars above. From primeval creatures that dwell in the Abyss, to the many characters who populate the Seeker Camp, the player must navigate the settings and stories in order to conquer their fears and achieve peace. In the main article, we will examine the game and get the developer’s perspective.

The Setting

The game is based on the highly popular manga of the same name, and it features the same beloved characters in all new environments that are fully interactive. The titular Abyss is the setting in which all the action takes place. It is the world’s last “unconquered” frontier and each player must figure out the mystique of the curse of the abyss.

the game has elements of hack’n slash and adventure, as well as exploration and puzzle mechanics.

The Reviewers Perspective

As you know Reg is actually a robot, not human, and on top of that he has no memory of his past. Everything he sees and experiences as soon as he opens his eyes is new and fresh. I tried to make sure that feeling of his pureness comes out as I do the voice for him. As he starts going through the Abyss with Riko whoever, he starts to take on more responsibilities, like taking care of Riko and protecting her. My mission is to get that across, including how he starts growing and realizing his power. I wanted to emphasize that well.” –Voice actor

Monstrum 2, Out Last Week, and Here’s What People Are Saying. Developed by Junkfish and published by Junkfish Limited, this exciting, dark, and surreal game was released on September the 6th, 2022, to mixed but overall positive reviews on Steam. A multiplayer game for up to 5 players, Monstrum 2 follows much the same horror-survival vein as the previous Monstrum title. The players get dropped into a maze-like environment that is called Sparrowlock, which is procedurally generated for every new player group. In the main article, we will be diving into this new title and getting the developer’s perspective.

The Setting

Sparrowlock, the main setting for every adventure, is a huge undersea maze that is different for every new adventure the player(s) engage with. Additionally, Sparrowlock is populated by horrible sea monsters and adversaries that the players have to defeat or avoid while trying to escape.

Basically a PvP (Player vs. Player) game, each group can either be pitted against another online group, or they can fight amongst one another for the prize.

The Developer’s Perspective

Monstrum 2 is an asymmetric PvP game for those looking to take survival horror to the next level. Pit yourself against a terrifying monster as a team of up to 4 human prisoners, locked in a tactical struggle to escape a decrepit sea fortress, or play as one of the many horrifying monstrosities hunting them down. Use your wits and cunning to navigate a complex, procedurally generated metal labyrinth that changes layout, puzzles, items, and obstacles with each playthrough, keeping each match dynamic for humans and monsters alike.” –Developer
