Niantic partners to build a real-world metaverse

Published

on

Niantic, the technology company behind Pokemon Go, is partnering with UK-based digital technology authority Digital Catapult to develop a ‘real-world metaverse’.

The Niantic Lightship Augmented Reality Accelerator will provide UK entrepreneurs the opportunity to engage with Cartoon Network and globally renowned choreographer Wayne McGregor to create immersive experiences.

The program will look at how augmented reality technology might shape the real-world metaverse, transforming it into the next platform for social interactions, improving human experiences, and bringing people closer together. Moreover, Niantic just released the Lightship Augmented Developer Kit, which seeks to make creating AR experiences easier for developers.

Three startups are set to be awarded up to £100,000 each to develop a demonstrator of a socially engaging AR experience using the platform

“We’ve always been devoted at Studio Wayne McGregor to investigating the ever-inspiring interplay between new technology and human performance – propelled by physical intelligence,” Wayne McGregor CBE remarked.

“This one-of-a-kind cooperation with Niantic and Digital Catapult enables us to dream larger and go deeper into our expanding metaverse(s), envisioning a new sort of shared creative experience that frees the imagination.”

“We know that really connecting with movement allows us to have a deeper knowledge of what it is to be human and our role in the world. This initiative gives everyone the tools they need to tap into their inner creativity, engage with others in creative ways, and explore their bodies and the environments they occupy in new and unlimited ways.”

In addition, Digital Catapult has the most reach into the immersive ecosystem of any UK organization: its flagship immersive accelerator, CreativeXR, received 750 applications last year.

“The UK has unique strength in the large number of creative studios and businesses that have emerged from sectors such as games, TV, film, vfx, theatre, and music and are now leveraging AR & VR technology to explore the creation of entirely new kinds of immersive experience,” said Jeremy Silver, CEO of Digital Catapult.

“Digital Catapult is delighted to be collaborating with Niantic to drive early adopters and open up this new field of cultural and commercial opportunity as one of the world’s leading businesses at the forefront of enabling the growth of augmented reality as a platform for new products and services.”

Dragon Fam is an NFT project to look at

Published

on

Dragon Fam is a true community-driven initiative that focuses on an in-real-life brand, art, and utility. It consists of 6,666 baby dragons in a rainbow of colors, each with their own set of distinctive, hand-drawn characteristics. This project, which is being led by the community and the arts, is bringing together services that are useful to both adults and children.

“We not only want to be a well-known brand on Web3, but we also want to make an entrance into the IRL market. Through the development of our children’s product line, it is our intention to fulfill our purpose of spreading joy and affection to young people. Some of the initial concepts that we are considering include coloring books, toys, merchandising, and smartphone applications.”

“We place a high value on the creative process, and as such, we would like to promote emerging artists by giving them a platform on Medium, Twitch, or Discord. Our Dragon Anti Rug Squad will contribute to the creation of a more secure environment on the web3 and will assist rugged projects.”

Dragon Fam is an endeavor that is entirely community-driven. The development of an IRL brand, which will place a significant emphasis on products geared at children, is going to be one of the initial steps of the project. Donations to charitable organizations will be made using a portion of the profits that will be set aside for this purpose.

In point of fact, the community is the first priority for Dragon Fam, which is why the team began providing IRL functionality several months before the mint was ever established. Users of the official Dragon Fam Discord channel have the opportunity to win real-world currency and prizes simply by maintaining an active membership in Dragon Fam.

Dragon Coin is a proprietary money that is only valid within the confines of the Dragon Fam ecosystem, where it may be earned and spent. The value will not fluctuate at all, nor will it be available for trading on any exchanges

“The staff has put together a Dragon Coin Shop in our Discord server, which will allow you to trade in real-world prizes in exchange for your digital currency.”

“Finding projects that have the potential to become rugs is the mission of our Dragon Anti-Rug Squad, which will devote itself to making the Web3 space a safer place. Before other people spend their money into the project, we not only want to protect ourselves, but also other individuals. In addition, one of our goals is to lend a hand to hardy initiatives that have been abandoned by their founders so that the community can pick up the pieces, locate a new starting point, and begin again. When it comes to the Web3 space, we don’t want to be a part of the problem, but rather a part of the solution.”

CBI unveils a new metaverse platform

Published

on

The second round of the private token and NFT sale for Horyou AlphaVerse, a metaverse devoted to social good and created by game and blockchain product developer Crypto Blockchain Industries (CBI), has begun. Horyou AlphaVerse is now accepting corporate and venture capital investments following a successful pre-seed sale of more than 100 million LIGHTS tokens to a group of innovators and collaborators associated with Horyou and Horyou Foundation.

Qualified buyers may buy up to 600 million LIGHTS tokens during this private sale. Land NFTs will also be accessible. There will be 180,000 Land NFTs in the Horyou AlphaVerse, distributed among 288 districts. There are 278 nation and territory districts in addition to 10 theme districts focused on the UN 2030 Agenda. 160 to 1,800 Land NFTs are divided into streets within each district.

The founder of Horyou, Yonathan Parienti, spoke on a panel at the Metaverse, NFT, and Web 3 conference on June 7, 2022, which was sponsored by Huobi Tech and organized by the Association of Family Offices in Asia and Invest HK

Yonathan Parienti continued to discuss the vision and goals of Horyou AlphaVerse throughout the panel as well as the first components of the world’s game design, such as the regular structures, premium buildings, and the map.

Horyou and CBI are introducing a responsible strategy: “Technology with a purpose” using this platform bringing the metaverse and NFTs together to serve social good. Since 2013, Horyou and its founder, Yonathan Parienti, have advocated for these ideas. The parties hope that this initiative will assist in digitising and facilitating contributions, as well as social and societal responsibilities.

This promise is made in two ways: directly, by making each use of LIGHTS tokens traceable on the blockchain, and indirectly, by giving the Horyou Foundation LIGHTS tokens based on 0.05 percent of each use’s transactions.

The major goal of Horyou AlphaVerse is to promote quicker adoption of behaviors that support sustainability and social good in the actual world. It’s simple and enjoyable to work together, take inspiration from different cultures, exchange expertise, and share best practices in an immersive, gamified environment while also spreading awareness of innovations, impact initiatives, and charity causes.

Riu Plaza Hotel opens its door in the metaverse

Published

on

RIU Hotels & Resorts wants to be a metaverse pioneer. It’s making its virtual premiere with the Riu Plaza. The first hotel to open in the metaverse, it combines reality with digital recreation in AltSpace. This renowned Madrid structure delivers an outstanding real-world experience, which can now be recreated virtually. RIU believes the metaverse will be the future foundation of brands’ and people’s digital presence.

RIU’s goals are founded on the premise that the metaverse is Web 3.0, but immersive and not merely a display

This technology must grow and become more accessible before it can establish itself and evolve like the web and social media. RIU has entered the metaverse with this concept to provide users what they want.

They can visit the lobby and admire the decoration and architectural aspects, or they can travel to the rooftop terrace and peer over the glass balcony or cross the 100-metre-high walkway. It’s all virtual, but it’s still entertaining. Users can pick up, open, and click on items to reveal surprises. Moreover, first-timers get a secret gift.

La Agencia Encubierta, a digital marketing agency and metaverse pioneer, helped RIU build this project. The recently completed Riu Plaza in Microsoft’s AltSpace boasts novel building characteristics and genuine elements that interact with guests in the digital world thanks to this agency.

“We’re pleased of this new endeavor and know it’s just the start.” Technology and creativity will help us design experiences, entertainment content, virtual events, and new business models. We’re close to letting guests book in the metaverse using voice commands. Joan Trian Riu, Corporate Executive Director of RIU Hotels & Resorts, said, “The virtual Riu Plaza is a significant asset for the RIU brand, and we’re just beginning to discover its true potential.”

This is one of La Agencia Encubierta’s best projects. Riu Plaza in AltSpace is unique in design and usability. Real visuals and digital design, plus the ability to reserve a suite, are new. We were able to reproduce an iconic Madrid building since we had access to the architectural designs and worked with a renowned AltSpace builder. La Agencia Encubierta’s CSO and CEO, José Olivares and Jurro Pizarro, are proud of the brand’s interactive presence in this phase.

The chosen solutions, such as the true views of Madrid from the Rooftop 360° patio, make this hotel a one-of-a-kind metaverse creation.
