The Sandbox unveils Mega City 2 partnerships

The Sandbox, a leading decentralized gaming virtual world and subsidiary of Animoca Brands, today announced a series of new partners for Mega City 2, the second phase of Hong Kong’s vibrant cultural hub in the metaverse. On April 28, 2022, The Sandbox will host a new LAND Sale to commemorate these collaborations, allowing players to purchase LANDs and become a part of the Mega City community.

The soul of the Mega City neighborhood has always been its people

With the growth of the Mega City into its second phase, The Sandbox continues to bring in the city’s talents to the cultural centre, building on the success of Mega City 1. Ocean Park, Standard Chartered, Regal Hotels Group, Tatler Asia, EVI, Brinc, MADworld, Gameone, Chord Hero, Hong Kong Pop Culture Time Gates, and UFO School are among the newcomers.

These individuals represent the best in the tourism, hospitality, culture, media, education, banking, investing, music, and entertainment industries, allowing The Sandbox to create a culturally vibrant community that is representative of the city.

“Our new partners contribute some of the best of what makes Hong Kong a multi-cultural, lively metropolis while also embracing our creative vision of developing an open metaverse,” said Sebastien Borget, The Sandbox’s co-founder and COO. “Through The Sandbox platform, they’re redefining themselves and innovating to provide unique virtual experiences.”

Following the successful debut of The Sandbox’s highly anticipated Alpha Season 2, a slew of new game experiences are in the works for the Alpha Season and beyond. Over 2.7 million people have signed up for the entertainment metaverse, indicating tremendous global interest ahead of the platform’s full debut.

Part virtual real estate, part amusement park, The Sandbox fully embraces the idea of the metaverse as a continuous shared digital space where worlds and heroes collide to make magic.
