VRChat, a Game and Virtual Chat Bundle All in One

Published

on

VRChat, a game created by two programmers back in the winter of 2017, is virtual sharing platform that enables its users to interact with each other via personalized avatars. The avatars themselves are controlled through virtual reality headsets and interfaces that have become steadily more sophisticated over the past few years. However, the players can also interface the system vis their desktops if they wish, using an intuitive mouse and keyboard setup. Like Minecraft, or Second Life more especially, players can design and launch their very own private worlds in which to engage with other players, a cool feature for open world games. In the main article, we will discuss how this game made VR cool again.

What is It?

In essence, VRChat is exactly what is sounds like; it is a virtual world in which players from all over the globe can log on and, using their very own customized avatars, interact with one another in any number of ways. The VR hardware that is now available, popularized by such platforms as Kinect, allows players to track their own physical movements and instantiate them onto their avatars. everything from the movement of limbs to the subtlest blink of an eye or a wink. This adds a layer of depth to the characters, and to the interactivity that is hard to duplicate, and is a part of what makes this game a solid choice for immersiveness.

With the rise of such phenomenally immersive games as Second Life and RecRoom, VRChat was poised to take over a relatively booming sector of the market. The need and drive for more and more detailed and immersive titles has put us in a position where we can only imagine what it will be like in the next decade of development.

Kerbal Space Program 2, Long-Awaited Sequel Comes to PC

Published

on

The Kerbal Space Program game was a very popular space-flight simulator that was released on April 5, 2015. It garnered much success across the platforms for which it was released. The sequel, to be released as late as 2023, has been delayed numerous times due to many different issues in development and funding. Now, however, the game is moving forward, according to sources, and nothing stands in the way of its release. In the main article, we will discuss the content of the game and some of the elements that may make it another win for the development team.

The Setting

The game itself is a sandbox style game  that enables the player to freely explore the space environment. The game’s development has been headed up by Star Theory Games, which used to be a company called Uber Games. Part of what makes the game so popular, and re-playable, according to reviews, is this sandbox mechanic.

In a sandbox game, it is commonly accepted that the primary means of exploration are what make the game a pass/fail, so to speak; It’s what makes the game good or bad.

The Polygon Take

“For various reasons, the release date was pushed back to Q3 2021. Take-Two established a new unnamed studio under Private Division to continue development of Kerbal Space Program 2, with some of Star Theory’s employees brought into it, leaving it unclear what Star Theory’s role remains on the title. Later reporting by Bloomberg revealed that Take-Two was in talks to acquire Star Theory but abruptly changed course…”
