WISeKey International Holding Ltd, a leading cybersecurity, IoT, and AI company, announced today that its CEO and founder Carlos Moreira presented the WISeKey Metaverse technologies at the Building Better Worlds China global conference series, which examined the potential of Web 3.0 to improve everyone’s lives.
The goal is to bring together leaders and innovators in the global blockchain, Defi, NFT, and metaverse communities, as well as content creators, social commentators, entrepreneurs, and investment institutions, in order to gain a deeper understanding of where this technology is taking us and to help chart a course forward.
The event, which was the most prestigious of its kind in China, centered on killer applications in the metaverse
WISeKey described how identities Avatars will enable us to navigate the metaverse utilizing its WISeID technology, delegating our presence on the Metaverse to authenticated versions of ourselves created through machine learning that will navigate and conduct a variety of transactions on our behalf.
The first generation of WISeID served as a trusted identity service that enables access to web and mobile applications using strong authentication methods. WISeID supports online KYC onboarding, OTP and digital certificate login, as well as an innovative “hands-free” secure login based on QR-Codes that users can read using the WISeID suite of mobile applications without having to enter passwords.
Document digital signature services are among the additional security services provided. Customers can easily enhance the security of their cloud applications by integrating WISeID’s OpenID Connect and OAUTH2 implementations. WISeID can also be integrated with Microsoft Active Directory to facilitate the incorporation of enterprise applications.
The second generation of WISeID Digital Identities in the Metaverse includes a protocol-integrated identification module, while additional applications will be developed. Users will have autonomy over their identity, which means they will have complete control over their personal identification information and therefore will not need to rely on a central entity or third party for identity verification. With a true NFT identity, users will be able to create, sign, and verify claims, while parties with whom they interact will be able to verify their identity. Additionally, users will be able to disclose information selectively.
Through their digital identities, Metaverse users can establish a reputation, thereby enhancing the value exchange process. Through digital signatures, requests for verification, and transactions, value is exchanged; these transactions allow a user to build a reputation that can be inspected and verified by other digital identities and value intermediaries.
